Traveling to Baguio this 2021: All the Things You Need to Do

Travel limitations have been strict for the past months, but Baguio is now opening its doors to tourists. You may soon enjoy the cool breeze - and fresh produce the City of Pines offers.

How to travel to Baguio?

Preparation is key to making your travel to Baguio as smooth as possible. Below is a list of the travel requirements you need to prepare.

  • Confirmed Itinerary

  • Baguio VISITA Account

  • Negative RT-PCR/Rapid Antigen/Saliva Test OR Full-Dose Vaccination card/Certificate for Vaccinated Individuals

  • Confirmed Accommodation

  • Confirmed Itinerary

  • QR Code Tourist Pass


Step 1: Plan your Itinerary

Your itinerary is the backbone of your entire trip. Confirmed travel dates are necessary. You should already have an idea of how you will maximize your stay in the city. Furthermore, this basic information is required before you can register using the Baguio VISITA website.


Step 2: Visit Baguio VISITA Account & Register

Create an account by clicking this link. When you tap on ‘Schedule a Visit’ on the homepage, this will prompt you to sign up and register. You will need to provide your personal information, such as an address and contact details. A valid government ID and a current photo are also a requirement.


Once finished, an e-mail will be forwarded to you to verify your account. If successful, you will now have access to your personal dashboard on the website, and you can now schedule your visit.


Step 3: Get Tested for COVID-19

If you are fully vaccinated, you are required to present your full-dose vaccination card or certificate. But, if you are planning on getting tested before your trip, it must be taken at least forty-eight to seventy-two hours before your ravel. Furthermore, it should be from accredited laboratories.


Once you’ve received your negative results, you may attach them along with the other travel requirements. You may also choose to get tested upon arrival. The fee for tourists is currently at Php 500.


Step 4: Confirm your Accommodation

It is essential to make sure that the accommodation you are booking is DOT-accredited. You may check this link for a list of accommodations you may book your reservations in during your stay here in Baguio City.


Step 5: Submit all Required Documents

Log in to the Baguio VISITA website. Indicate all the details of your travel, such as travel dates and accommodation details. Once finished, you need to fill out the health declaration form.


This form will serve as a universal health declaration document for all the places you’ll be visiting in Baguio. You will also need to upload your negative COVID-19 test results taken 48-72 hours before your travel date.


But, if you choose to get an Antigen test upon arrival, you will be redirected to a testing form which you will need to fill out and upload.


After submitting all the required documents, you need to wait for the electronic mail from Baguio VISITA for the approval of your request.


Step 6: Get your QR Code Tourist Pass

You will receive a unique QR Code Tourist Pass if you correctly submitted all requirements. You may download or save this file because you need to present this whenever your pass through border checkpoints and if you want to visit any establishments. The QTP will serve as a contact tracing mechanism. Make sure to keep it with you all the time.


Step 7: Arriving in Baguio City

Once you arrive, you will need to pass through two triage stations. The first one is at the checkpoint along Marcos Highway and the second at the Baguio Convention Center. They will verify your travel documents, and you will undergo a health check.


If you are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, you will be denied entry and redirected to a nearby health facility.
